Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors Record-Breaking Milestone, their highest ever sales performance in the European market last year.
According to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association on the 18th, Hyundai Motors and Kia sold 1,106,467 units in Europe last year, a 4.3% increase from the previous year. Sales in Europe exceeded 1,065,227 units in 2019 for the first time in four years.
Hyundai Motors sold 534,170 units, a 3.1% increase from the previous year, and Kia sold 572,297 units, a 5.4% increase. As a result, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors exceeded 1 million units in annual sales in Europe for three consecutive years.
Last year, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors’ European market share recorded 8.6%, down 0.8 percentage points from the previous year, ranking fourth for three consecutive years. Volkswagen ranked first with 25.9%, Stellantis ranked second with 16.6%, and Renault Group ranked third with 9.7%. 5th place is BMW Group (7.1%).
Record-Breaking Milestone By model, Tucson sold the most with 133,685 units, followed by Kona (83,028 units) and i20 (53,712 units).
As for electric vehicles, Kona EV shipped 32,215 units, followed by Ioniq 5 (23,907 units) and Ioniq 6 (10,819 units).
