Chinese media reported that the doors of these cars are likely to be unlocked in the event of a collision. Tesla plans to supplement defects in Tesla Recalls 1.62 M Vehicles through remote upgrade ( OTA ).
Cui Dongxu, secretary-general of the China Passenger Car Association, told the state-run Global Times, “It is unlikely that the recall will affect Tesla’s sales in the Chinese market. It is common for car manufacturers to recall products, and it shows responsibility.” In May of last year, Tesla encountered problems such as not being able to set the strength of regenerative braking (converting kinetic energy during deceleration or braking to electrical energy to charge the battery) and not working the alarm that warns when the accelerator pedal is depressed for a long time. About 1.1 million vehicles sold in China have been recalled due to defects.
