Pricing for the 2024 Kia Niro EV has been announced, as the electric small crossover enters its second model year. The 2024 Kia Niro EV starts at $40,925 (including a $1,325 destination charge), which is only $180 more than last year. The vehicle itself is $150 more expensive, with the remaining $30 coming from higher shipping costs, which are now $1,325 compared to $1,295 for the 2023 model.
As before, the base price corresponds to the entry-level Wind model, while the better-equipped Wave model starts at $45,925 (including shipping), which is also $180 more expensive than last year. Despite the small price increase, Kia says the 2024 Kia Niro EV offers more features. However, they only mentioned one instance where a double cargo floor was added to improve practicality and convenience.
Other changes include the elimination of the Fire Orange metallic exterior paint across the entire Niro range and the light gray interior package for the 2024 Kia Niro EV Wind model. The Kia Niro EV will continue to be powered by the same single-motor powertrain, consisting of a 64.8-kilowatt-hour battery and a permanent magnet synchronous motor located on the front axle, delivering 201 horsepower and 188 pounds (85.28 kilogram)-feet of torque.
Range remains at an EPA-estimated 253 miles (ca. 407 kilometers), while the EPA-estimated combined MPGe rating also remains unchanged at 113 MPGe. Using a DC fast charger, it takes approximately 45 minutes to charge the battery from 10% to 80%. As for standard equipment, the base Niro EV Wind already comes with exterior features including 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED headlights, heated mirrors, automatic wipers, privacy glass, and an electric boot.
Inside, it’s equipped with an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a mix of cloth and faux leather seat fabric, heated front seats, a faux leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, 10.25-inch gauges and infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, five USB ports, wireless phone charging and a Harman Kardon six-speaker sound system.
In addition, the 2024 Kia Niro EV Wave model, priced at $45,925, also adds upgraded headlights, fog lights, power-folding mirrors, sunroof, eight-way power-adjustable passenger seat, driver memory settings, and full artificial leather seats. chairs, heated and ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, and more.
The 2024 Kia Niro EV Wave is also equipped with an upgraded version of the High-Speed Driving Assist 2 system, Intelligent Parking Automatic Parking Assist system, parking sensors, and rear automatic emergency braking system.
