The 2026 Genesis GV90 is the third electric SUV launched by Genesis and is expected to become the brand’s top flagship model. The car is based on Hyundai Motor Group’s latest electric vehicle platform and will incorporate future-oriented family car design and a rugged flagship body. In addition, GV90 will also integrate cutting-edge technologies such as Samsung OLED display and adopt similar but unique elements to GV80.
The front of the car adopts a futuristic design that combines MLA headlights and a shield-shaped grille. Elements inspired by the Genesis X concept are expected to become the core of the design of the next generation of electric vehicles.
The GV90 SUV will be an all-new model when it arrives in the 2026 model year. It will be Genesis’ fourth and largest EV to date. We anticipate that it will utilize the same platform as other recent EVs within the Hyundai Group. However, we anticipate that the GV90 will introduce enhancements such as air springs and electronically controlled dampers to enhance the smoothness of the ride.
Prices for the 2026 Genesis GV90 are expected to start around $100,000 and go up to $120,000 depending on trim and options.
In terms of body design, the GV90 retains the clamshell hood of the G90, and the bumper uses a two-layer air intake and a driving assistance radar sensor, further emphasizing the sense of luxury.
The vehicle features twin five-spoke wheels, black door mirrors and automatic flush door handles, adding to the luxurious feel. Especially for passenger car doors, the second row of doors opens in reverse, which is expected to increase the visual sense of openness and luxury.
In terms of interior, the GV90 is expected to adopt the same design style as the GV80 shown in the picture above, but the workmanship and materials used everywhere should be of a higher level.
If this interior is used on a pure electric SUV, it will indeed look great. It can bring a sense of luxury that is rare among pure electric SUVs from luxury brands of the same level.
The GV90 is expected to be produced using Hyundai Group’s E-GMP electrical global modular platform. So, the new car will most likely share the powertrain with the GV60, including a single-motor rear-wheel drive version with 168kw/350N·m, and a dual-motor four-wheel-drive version. 234kw/605N·m and the high-performance version of 320kw/605N·m, and also has a boost mode that can increase the output to 360kw/700N·m. Such data can make the GV600 break 100km/h in 4 seconds. I believe it will be stress free to drive a big guy like the GV90. Of course, 350kw fast charging should not be absent, but there is no definite information about battery capacity and cruising range.
GV90 adopts a new-generation electric vehicle-specific platform with a battery capacity of up to 113kWh and a cruising range of 800km. The price range is expected to be mid- to low-end at RMB 200 million. It will compete with BMW iX, Mercedes-Benz EQS, Tesla Model X and other models. The car is expected to be released at the end of next year, and its launch is scheduled for the first half of 2025.
Genesis now offers three pure electric models: SUV models GV60 and Electrified GV70, and Electrified G80 sedan. From 2025, all new Genesis models will be available on the market exclusively with battery power.
