Volvo Car has launched the 2024 model high-performance coupe-type electric SUV 2024 Volvo C40 Recharge, which has strengthened its marketability with longer driving range and next-generation connectivity services.

The 2024 Volvo C40 Recharge is a model that combines the advantages of an SUV, advanced connectivity and a 100% pure electric powertrain with a new character hinting at dynamic performance.

What’s New for 2024 Volvo C40 Recharge?

It debuted in the global market in 2021, targeting the digital generation who prefer strong expressions of individuality and
personalized journeys. Since then, full-fledged shipments began last year, and cumulative global sales have increased by 167% in the first half of this year.

The newly introduced 2024 Volvo C40 Recharge is equipped with front and rear electric motors that have significantly improved driving range and energy efficiency through technological updates, and the next-generation TMAP infotainment service 2.0 based on ICT technology.

The integrated vehicle infotainment service developed by Volvo Car Korea with T-Map Mobility, the first imported car, has also been updated to provide more advanced safety and personalized mobility experience by utilizing cutting-edge ICT technology. It is an advanced connectivity function that allows you to use voice commands (Aria) to navigate maps and information, play music, make calls and text messages, set major vehicle functions, and use NUGU smart home.

The 2024 Volvo C40 Recharge is available at a starting price of $54,895, with the cost varying up to $61,745 based on the chosen trim and optional features.


2024 Volvo C40 Recharge EV Motor, Power, and Performance

The powertrain is released as a single trim, Recharge Twin, which provides dynamic performance, with a 78 kWh battery.

Dual electric motors mounted one on the front and rear axles, a permanent all-wheel drive system (AWD), and an electronic shifting system (Shift-By-Wire) was combined. In particular, the 2024 Volvo C40 Recharge adopted different e-motors of 150ps and 258ps in place of the 204ps motor that was used equally for both axles along with the software update.

Energy efficiency is also 4.6 km/kWh (5.0 city/4.2 high-speed) based on combined fuel consumption, an improvement of about 12% compared to the previous version (4.1 combined/4.4 city/3.7 high-speed).

In addition, the charging time from 10% to 80% is 34 minutes (based on 150kW DC), which is approximately 6 minutes shorter than the existing model, supporting faster charging.

The wheels applied to the 2024 Volvo C40 Recharge are 5-spoke black diamond cut, and the large 20-inch wheels create a sporty and strong appearance.

The vehicle on display is a single Ultimate trim and is equipped with Pirelli PZero tires of 235/45/R20 on the front wheels and 255/40/R20 on the rear wheels.

The design of the rear lamp is a thin tail lamp similar to the vertical design of the XC60, giving a unique impression.
